any suggestion for staying on 1200 cal while eating at fast food or restaurants with the family.

My husband likes fast food for lunch then meeting with extended family for dinner at restarants every weekend. I do so good on my diet during the week then put it all back on during the weekend.

Feeling really frustrated.

Grilled chicken sandwiches, no mayo or cheese are my go to when fast food is forced upon me lol...also for dinners out you can do salads, light or no dressings, also watch out for the cheese and croutons. Check out the menus...a lot of restaurants will have a symbol indicating lighter choice options that are under a certain calorie value.

Why do you have your calories so low? With the amount you have left to lose, you should have your weight loss goal at 0.5 lb/wk. You should have more calories to eat like that and keep losing weight.

I am 5'4" 177 with 40 lbs to lose. I have tried eating at different calories levels 1500, and so on and I always maintained weight or gainened. Never lost. When I did 1200 I lost when I did 1300 or 1400 I gained. So I stick with what works for me

    Great advice!

At some restaurants you can get 6 ounces of sirloin and a serving of broccoli or other steamed vegetable.

Salad with chicken and light dressing is available at most sit down restaurants. As for fast food, a bit harder for me personally, so I tend to eat less of a food I do want, and get diet soda.

If you are dead set on sticking with 1200 cals, you may try and eat even lighter in the meal before and after.

Have you thought about adding in some extra exercise during the week and saving up those calories for the weekend?
