Search function in groups?

Is it me being thick but how do I search and browse for groups? I'm on the main website using an iPad? And also i wanted to post this question in tech help but it said I didn't have permission, but I see others have left questions in there, I'm by no means a technophobe but forums and community section on MFP make me feel stupid?

The group search function has been broken since October 2014. Please see this post on a temporary work around.
