I am not sure if this is where to post this but I have a question. I have not been consuming a lot of sodium but my legs and feet are so swollen. Can this be related to exercise? I just started with these symptoms yesterday and it is not what I am eating. I have been doing 30 day shred for two weeks tomorrow. Any ideas because it doesn't make sense to me.

If you have the insurance I would go see a doctor and have your heart checked. If your a smoker or on medications this may be why you have edema problems going on or something more serious such as a heart condition. You should suggest a stress test from the doctor or blood tests to make sure you are in good condition to be doing such exercise programs.

If it's hot where you live, that may be it. I know I was swollen for a couple of days but it has gone away...You could also see a doctor. It could be something more serious. Good luck!

Could be from the exercise or could be heart/circlatory problems.

My feet used to swell up all the time and last year I told my Dr and she didn't do anything about it. This year my feet are no longer swelling up and because my blood pressure was a little high she put me on water pills.

You should at least call your doctor. Edema is not normal and can be a sign of several serious health problems.

Well I have been on bp medication 10mg for abt 5 years. When I went in for my check up in January w/ meds it was 122/80, but that was before I really started exercising regularly and lost 10lbs before I joined mfp and now I am up to 17lbs lost. I wonder if I really don't need my meds anymore? I plan on calling the dr. on Monday if it persists. Thanks for the answers.

If you are on BP meds, you really need to call your doc!

I've read a few scary stories of MFPrs whose BP dropped so much after some weight loss that they ended up in the ER. Leave a message on your doctor's answering service tonight for some advice, please. I wouldn't wait until Monday if I were you.

See a doctor, it could be a lot of different things but I think it's important to see a doctor. I've known two people that that happened to. One was kidney problems and the other was heart problems. Don't want to scare you but you need to get it checked out.

Well good news all the swelling has went away! I spoke to a friend of mine who is a fitness expert and she said it may have been microtears due to my workout regiment. I am going to call the dr. in the morning because, I may not need my medication anymore because I have been nutritionally and physically changing my lifestyle it may not be necessary anymore. Here's to hoping getting of the med.

Glad it abated and also gald you'll be calling the doc. You're right, your BP meds can maybe be reduced or discontinued at this point but your doc is the only one who can make that decision. Good luck!
