okay so they expired oct of 2010. and they = one a day women's.

anyone know which ingredients are still active? what i'm missing out on? is it harmful?

i'm not gonna throw them out, and i'm not gonna replace them with a new bottle of any vitamin whatsoever. i'm either going to have one a day. one a week. or let them sit on the floor of my room for the rest of eternity. what do you think?

I work in a pharmacy and from what I've heard from the pharmacists that work there that they can no guarantee that they will give you any benefit.

lol what? Why eat anything expired? I wouldn't do that, but hey, is all up to you. By the way, if you do weight training, i recommend optimum nutrition optiwomen.

Throw them away, Opti Women is a good multi try it!
  • Im a nurse and most physicians you talk to will say that any solid pill (cap or liquid is different) doesnt really expire.... its just a date that the pharmacy companies put on there to make you purchase more. Its not going to hurt you it just might be slightly less effective.

They do actually expire. They just don't expire exactly on the date on the bottle. The manufacturers have to put a date for the ingredients that will eventually break down into worthlessness. They are most likely still just as effective and if not, it's not by much. There is nothing in them that will harm you once they start to break down. I have worked as a pharmacy technician for over 13 years and I would still take them if they were at my house. :)

Vitamins are fine to use for 6 months beyond their expiration date.....I've worked in the supplement industry for several years. It can be used as a "sell by date" (but not exactly)...kind of like the sell by date on date on eggs....they're technically still good about 5-7 days beyond the sell by date....but people see the date and assume it means expiration date.

    Says Expires October 2010.

As I said, I am not going to throw them away. Because I have OCD and money issues. I paid for the vitamins. I will either swallow them or play arts and crafts with them.

Also as I said, I am not looking to buy any other vitamin. Thanks anyway.

My thoughts were it's either going to have no effect. or very little positive effect. or the same effect as they would have a few months ago. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't harmful. It's okay if it kills me in my sleep, but I don't want a stomach ache.

Exactly what she said. They cannot be perfectly potent and fine one day and then the next day-their expiration day, they all of the sudden are no longer beneficial and harmful lol The expiration date is a guideline.
