So I calculated my macros in a iifym calculator and my tdee is 1847 so for a two lb per week loss would be about 2087 calories a day. My macros came out at 253 carbs, 151 protein and 53 fat all measured in grams. Now I came up with the meals and everything and it equals a little less than 2087 but on one day it will say an estimated weight of 198 in 5 weeks which is my current weight(?) and the rest of the days with the meals copied over it says an estimated weight of 188 lbs in 5 weeks which makes more sense. What is going on with the app? Is it the calculations or the app? Thanks for am help or insight given.

I think you have to eat 20% below your tdee.0

If You're TDEE is 1850- then you need to eat 20% BELOW that.
not above it- you'll gain weight eating 2000 plus if you're TDEE is 1850.
20% is 370 calories- puts you right at 1480- call it 1500 and start losing.
Also 2 pounds a week is aggressive if you don't have that far to go.
And remember you don't eat back under TDEE.0

I think you need to do some more reading on the subjects of BMR, TDEE, etc. Your app is just a tool. You can't rely on it to think for you.0

Sorry I miss wrote my tdee is 2783 and bmr is 1847. So it gave me the # 2087 calories a day as an aggressive number to lose 2 lbs a week.0

Since you're working with the TDEE -% method, days when you don't exercise will give you a different estimate from mfp on each day. MFP calculates on a different method (where you're supposed to keep your deficite the same, so you eat different amounts on different days). As long as your average for the week is looking good, carry on as you are and ignore the 'If every day were like today' thingy. It's not accurate in the slightest, anyway. Just a fun gadget.0

Why would your TDEE be that high? Do you run for a few hours daily?0

Sorry math is still wrong.... If your TDEE is 2783 you would need to eat 1783 to lose 2 lbs per week. The suggestion to cut 20 percent is correct though. Depending on many things 2 lbs per week might not be sustainable.0

 20% of 2783 is 556
 5782- 556 is 2227

That's not that high. I often wonder how some people have such low TDEE's. Do you just sit in front of a tv all day?0

Math does not favor the short, slender, and female with desk jobs. Yes, even those who regularly gym it up, use their lunch breaks for a short walk, etc.0
