Keep an eye on me, because I know I won't

Hey so basically I'm trying... again... to shift all this excess weight I've gained over years of depression, health problems and general laziness. However I always seem to give up after a week, maybe two... I need someone to just keep a look out for me and make sure I don't give up again, because I need to lose it... The hospital have said I can't get treatment for things until I /do/ lose weight (we're talking 7 stone overall....)

Hi. I know starting is always the hardest. I think we need to want it bad enough to keep going. In order to get results you need to go at it much longer than a week or a month etc. I know we can get discouraged because we may want instant results but weight loss takes patience. There has to be a point where you mentally decide enough is enough and make the decision to do everything possible to lose the weight (basically eating less). We are here to support each other and it's always nice to have ppl to motivate us, give us a little push, or understand our challenges but ultimately in the end we should be our own cheerleaders because no one can make you do anything you don't really want to do. Good luck on your journey.

"The first step you take is the longest stride."
"The first step to being amazing to ANYTHING, anything at all, is - sucking at it."

Add me. :) I would love to be your friend and check in on you daily! This is a step of health, not a great leap into pain. Take one sure step every day, make one positive change- something you can keep! It is a life style and your body needs time to adjust to it. (Also you will fail, without question, if you have an all-or-nothing attitude.) You will succeed, without question, if you have a measurable goal.
"This week I will drink one full glass of water before every meal." Or..
"This week I will pack my own lunches instead of eating out."
"Instead of bowls of ice cream, I'll have 1/2 bowl with a side of Greek yogurt/fruit/something I like with honey and nuts. When I find a new healthy desert, I'll take the ice cream less often. Next week I'll eat the ice cream fewer days in the week."
"This week I will walk for 15 minutes every evening. I'll have a headset with music I only get to hear when I'm exercising."

When you are first starting, if you are used to heavy doses of less clean food, don't cut them out entirely. Start adding new foods you love- healthy things, and cut the portions of the less clean food. You've probably heard this A LOT, but you really, really, really will stop missing the 'dirty' food. It's not naturally what we were intended to eat, and when you start eating cleaner, the urge to eat the addictive food goes away. You really will crave healthier things. If your body needs protein, carbs, a nutrient- you will have appropriate cravings.

Personally, I feel like a god/goddess. ;) When I started eating cleaner, I acted and felt so much better. My body wasn't struggling anymore just to maintain itself, so I had more comfortable energy to be ME! Not to mention the confidence boost. 60 pounds lost, 60 to go.
