Hi, I'm Jill.
I'm a mom with a full time job and a busy schedule. Join me on a quest to get in 10,000 steps a day!
I get my steps in by walking the dog or with a friend, cleaning the house, marching or dancing in place while doing the laundry and dishes...pretty much any way I can.
Add me as a friend, and feel free to post your successes as well as your challenges. Together Everyone Achieves More!

What device do you use to measure your steps? I use Mapmywalk for tracking my walking and cycling, but it does not read in steps. I can figure about 2,000 in a mile but was wondering if there is a better way to track them.0

Most people can't walk to the bathroom without their phone so that works well. There are several apps and there is some pretty basic math to finding out how many miles you walk if like mine yours doesn't calculate mileage properly.0

I use my Fitbit to count steps. Before my Fitbit, I used Striiv...which is a free iPhone app.
I LOVE Striiv, because it gives you mini goals and challenges throughout the day. Like Shabaity said, we always have our phone on us, so it's easy to count steps.
Get those steps in!
Jill

I would be glad to add you as a friend to get on the 10,000 step challenge. I am also a new mom . First time one at that and currently I am so challenging myself to run 30 minutes 5xa week on my gazelle elliptical. I gained almost 40 pounds during my pregnancy. My prepregnancy weight was 125 I got up to 168. I last weighed in at 134. My goal is to get to 120lbs., I used to run 5 days a week almost 3 miles a day but currently taking it day by day on new challenges to work around my work and baby schedule.0

My Fitbit has been glitchy... It's kind of old though.. How's the new one?
I've been wearing it for 2 years. Charge it every week... It really doesn't motivate me with the little lights. I need one that vibrates when I don't move for so many minutes. LOL
Good job on he motivation for 10k a day!! I can usually his 15-16k each day on the weekends but my weekdays are barely 5k at my desk job. (Hence the need for one that is. Ore of an alarm!)0 -
Good job, Kuntrygal!
I just hit 13339 steps. How did you do?

Love to join you guys on 10,000 step challenge. Is MFP step calculator accurate? The closest I got on here so far is about 8,5000
-
I don't think it is. I use my Fitbit flex to track my steps. When I compare the steps from mfp and my Fitbit they don't match up.0

Brand new week... Starting fresh today 5x a week elliptical and every other day strength train. I am also starting garcinia Cambodia supplements to help to reach my 15 lbs goal to lose the weight. I am currently almost ag 5,000 steps today. Getting on elliptical in evening times when my baby is sleeping. He had his first shots today and it's been rough.0

I will join you! I am also a new mom, my son is 7 months old! I would like to lose about 30 lbs, but at this point I'll be happy with 5 or 10. I've been stalled at this weight since about a month after having the baby. I lost most of what I gained while pregnant, but I was overweight before. This is a great idea! Good to see all of you are doing well. Today I've only got about 4000 so I need to go on a walk tonight!0

I would like to join this challenge also. I turned 27 yesterday and got a fitbit charge hr for my birthday from my husband! Today I walked 20,000 steps! That's main goal daily but 10,000 is my minimum daily. I am also a mom of two of the coolest little kids and looking to lose 50 pounds. Any one can add me☺️0

I have a fitbit charge and it counts steps, miles, calories burned, flights of stairs. On a good day, I can get about 7500. My best day was 8900. I still haven't hit 10,000. I am trying to walk stairs at work 1 or 2 times a day and then 30 minutes after work. I need to get another walk in in the morning.0
