I've been thinking about it for a while but not confident I wont feel hungry and short of good recipe ideas. Could do with some encouragement or tips from other members - we could group our progress together?!

"unconstrained eating the other five days"

Yep, I could do some major damage during those 5 days, a lot more than 2 days of starving myself could fix. :-)

It's when you restrict your calories two days per week (500 for women, 600 for men) and eat normally (not unconstrained!) for the other five days, when you reach your goal you can cut down to one day to maintain, i think. The intermittent fasting is supposed to have health benefits as well as weight loss but I don't know an awful lot about it!

I think that depending on how you make up your 500/600 kcals, it can still be realy healthy and nutritous
