Has anyone tried this? https://www.mini-gastric-bypass.me/Mini.aspx?Sid=13-404243
I was curious to see what people thought of it..
For some reason I am not to sure if this would work or be healthy..
I looked all over the place for feedbacks but their is not much said about it..
anyways..I know nothing can substitute healthy eating and exercise..
I was just curious..
thanks

if I did enough research it just looks like a $480 shake...if it were a wonderful, easy, great thing then you'd think that everyone would've done it and posted about it everywhere....I tried medifast which was a shake method too (basically) and it sucked and tasted bad and was a huge waste of money.
Everyone has to do what is right for them but i think that saying this option is the same as a gastric bypass is kind of weird because eating 1200 calories and exercising an hour a day will show much prettier results than that and you don't have to starve yourself to do it...once you lost all the weight with the drink, then what? do you just eat drinks forever?0 -
Here's what a doctor on WebMD had to say about it:
Pamela Peeke, MD, MPH, FACP responded:
Hi and thanks for your posting. You know that old saying--- if it sounds too good to be true...This product falls right into that category. Here's the lowdown.
1) It costs $500 a pop and you'll see that for a small fraction of this, you can get the same results using real foods.
2) This is a product that contains everything from artificial color to both aspartame and sucrolose (both artificial sweeteners).
3) The "secret" is the fiber products combined with water. There is a feeling of stomach and intestinal fullness that is supposed to make you eat only 20% of what you'd normally consume. This is an arbitrary number. There is a BGlucan ingredient which is patented (meaning you have no clue as to what's in it), combined with old favorites guar and xanthan gum. BGlucan is supposed to "balance" your blood sugar. No science here and no idea of mechanism of action.
4) A word about guar/xanthan. Guar Side effects include increased gas production, diarrhea, and loose stools. These side effects usually decrease or disappear after several days of use. High doses of guar gum or not drinking enough fluid with the dose of guar gum can cause blockage of the esophogus and the intestines. It also interferes with the absorption of metformin (diabetes), penicillin and estrogen. Further, if you are on diabetes meds and take this, your blood sugar may become dangerously low. Xanthan gum swells in the intestine, which stimulates the digestive tract to push stool through. It also might slow the absorption of sugar from the digestive tract. When taken with diabetes meds the blood sugar may be too low. From both guar and xanthan you can experience significant flatulence and bloating.
I've got a better idea. Save your money. You can get the same results by including fiber rich foods in your diet all day long. Throw spinach, peppers and mushrooms into your omelet. Make a whole wheat wrap with a boatload of lettuce, red cabbage, cucumbers and zuchini. These are natual answers to feeling full and satisfied, instead of consuming products with funky side effects and artificial ingredients.
Finally a word of caution. Read those ads carefully. Look what they're promising--- "no side effects" "no cravings" "eat whatever you like" . It's all marketing hype and too good to be true. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but at the end of the day, natural whole foods with natural fiber fullness, along with regular physical activity is the critical recipe for success, as the folks on this exchange will tell you.

for real...sigh...I don't mind training , I actually quite enjoy it..and eating is enjoyable also , it's just that I have such a sweet tooth..I would want to order just the part that helps curve your appetite for sweets...0

Try fasting from sugars for a week and watch what happens. I eat low carb and the first week is always a bear for me to cut out the sugars, but by the 7th or 8th day the cravings are gone......cutting out sugars means ALL sugars even fruit and veggie sugars. Remember there is sugar in breads too.....look at all labels and if it has sugar....skip it.
Good luck honey0 -
that would be good to try...I am sure I will be a b i t c h for the first week...lol, I love my sugar..0

Maryh1974, are you referring to the Roca Labs formula? I can see that you posted your messae 3 years ago, so I wanted to know if you're one of the most successful users of the product. I just want some direct answers and not spams. Thank you.0
