30 Day shred Questions

Hi- I'm thinking of starting the 30 Day shred by Jillian Michaels. Can Anyone who has done it tell me of their results after completing it?... Like the inches they lost of the pounds they lost?... I'm 5'5" and 148 and my goal is to get down to 135. I need to gain strength. Will this video help with building some muscle strength? Also does anybody have any ideas on what they think the calorie burn is for each of the 3 work outs so that I log the calories correctly?.... Thanks so much for your help!

I want to tone up all over but my legs are my problem area.

    I started with the 30 Day Shred and then slowly grew my collection to include No More Trouble Zones, Burn Fat Boost Metabolism, Ripped in 30 and Six Week Six Pack. I haven't ever done the 30 Day shred for 30 days consistently but using all of the JM videos, I have definitely gained muscle and I see a huge difference in my legs. I just posted my Before and After pictures so you can check those out to see the difference in my body from doing the videos. I probably do 4 videos a week (so not every day).

    As far as calories, I just use whatever the "Circuit Training - General" gives me. I think its just over 200 calories for the 25 minute shred workouts. I'm sure I burn more calories doing the harder levels though.

    Definitely do it! I'm on Day 15 and its a great all over body workout. Great calorie burn in only 20 minutes as well.

    SW 160, GW 138. I definitely feel stronger, but haven't done a measurement to see inches lost yet.

    As for cals burned. It really varies on how hard you push your self.
    At first I logged it as circuit training on MFP and got 183 cals for 20 mins. I recently got a HRM and cals have varied from 210 to 280 for the same workout. Guess MFP is on the conservative side.

    If you search shred you'll find a lot of discussions about the workout.

    It will tone you Im still working on it dont know how much Ive lost yet and i dont weigh myself. but half way through I have lost .5 off breasts, 1.2 off chest, .3 off waist, 1.2 off hips, .5 off bicep, .8 off thighs so about 4 inches.
    I burn 200 calories for a session.
    It does planks and pushups and weight stuff its a good workout.
    I have a love /hate relationship with Jillian she is the devil LOL

    same here.. I started with 30 day shred, best thing I ever did! You will gain strength and lose the pounds...I too have started my little collection and also havent done it though 30 days either... I rather level 1 and 2 to 3... I find level 3 hurt my wrists a bit so watch out for that... I have pretty thin wrists anyway plus everyone is different... I definatley recommend it... once you've done her workout, no other work out compares really and you wont ever feel like you've worked out when you go to do something else either... its that good...Our Jillian is also very motivating throughout the dvd... you'll see.... you'll love it!!     I think the 30 DS will be perfect for you~

    It helps build strength, endurance and and will tone your muscles too!

    I get about a 180-200 calorie burn. Since it's only 20 minutes, I also do extra cardio sometime during the day.

    You'll love it, and the DVD is $10 so there's not much to lose..except weight! =)

    phahahaha!! true!! Sometimes I workout and i think '*****' but I cant fault her, love her too much!!
