Working out with a cold

So I've had a cold since yesterday and feel worse today. If I were to get a workout in would it slow or speed up my healing? I'm really craving a workout but don't want to make things worse on the cold front.

I felt this way last week and actually took two days off (per advice from my trainer). Sometimes your body just needs a rest. If you do workout just do low to moderate exercise. Your body is already battling.

I've had a cold for 3 weeks. (Or I got another one as soon as the first one ended) Tried working out a couple of days ago, but coughed so much I gagged. Do it moderately if you feel you need to.

Depends. If it's to the point I'm hacking up stuff, then I rest.

If it's just a stuffy nose, I workout. Cardio actually helps me breathe when my nose is all stopped up. (I always wipe down gym equipment sick or not)

I think the usual advice is: Above the neck, workout. Full body, rest. (Google it?)

I had a very mild cold last week and worked out and it was fine. But it was mild, and I was doing like, indoor pilates. If you have a sore throat, going running in the cold might not be the best idea, for example.

If you're craving the workout, I am guessing you are well enough and it won't hurt you. Use good judgement about what you're doing, where, the pace, etc. I find it can even help, and it is at least a nice distraction from symptoms.

    ^This^

It doesn't matter if you wipe down the machines - two words: airborne virus.

If you're sick but determined, please find something to do at home.
