I am on week 3 of my new lifestyle. I only lost 3lbs so far. But for some reason I feel like I should have lost more, like at least 5lbs!!!! Of course I want to do this slowly and surely lose and keep it off the healthy way, but for some reason my weight just keeps fluctuating between 3-4lbs up and down. I need some motivation here.. is the fluctuation normal? And how many weeks would it take to see weight loss results for me? All my basic info about me and my goals is on my profile!

Fluctuation is annoying, but sadly, normal. There are days where I know I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do, but I can just feel the weight from water, food, etc, make me feel heavier. I once gained 4 pounds overnight! It's so frustrating! Now I just avoid the scale on those days, and keep going. =) I started noticing my tighter pants fitting better around 8 pounds, but it's different for everyone. good luck!

Totally normal, and 1 lb a week is great progress! Shows like The Biggest Loser have given many people a very false idea of what weight loss should be like - seeing the trainers groan and look SO disappointed when a contestant (who's already lost 75 lbs or so) loses ONLY 7 lbs at a weekly weigh in make me sick. Rapid weight loss is a great way to hit the wall and pack it all back on because it's rarely a sustainable loss.

So you're on the right track - don't fret! If you haven't yet, snap some pics of yourself. You don't have to share them with anyone, they are just for you, and are great to look back on for comparison along the way. Grab a tape measure and start tracking measurements as well.

The scale will bounce around, daily fluctuations are completely normal, but can mess with your head if you're not careful. I dropped a full size without losing any weight on the scale - if i was focused on the number on the scale rather than the fact that I needed smaller jeans, I might have been upset! :stuck_out_tongue:

By your ticker you don't have a lot to lose, so slow and steady is better anyway, as is tracking those inches, and scale weight losses will really slow as you get closer to goal. Your body will still be changing for the better if you're sticking with your calorie and fitness goals.

I lost mine slowly, but have kept it off for over three years - totally worth it!
