Great job! I just discovered that, according to some weight standards guide, I'm apparently not trying hard enough with my deadlifts, lol ... my other compound lifts are right on target - but my weight for deadlifts wasn't even registering on their chart. Ooops. I guess I'd better (wo)man-up.

I'm thankful to be seeing some benefits from weight training. I lost a lot of weight in 2009 but never did any lifting.

It was pretty exciting to see over 300# on the bar.

    Current body weight: 295

You'll do it! My squat form is really bad, so I work harder on the deadlift.

Update, it's been 6 weeks. I'm down on the scale about 20 pounds and bumped the deadlift up to 335, 60 pounds over body weight.

Finally crossed 200 on the bench as well. In high school, I may or may not have lifted 185; I honestly can't remember. I know I never did more, so the 205 this week felt pretty good, though I'm a long way from satisfied.

For those that may question the rapid nature of my weight loss, I too, am concerned. I've increased my calories a bit to 2200-2300/day which is just above my BMR. I know I should eat more, but I just can't force myself to do it. I guess it's an excuse, but I am seeing regular gains in the weight room, so I'm working hard to preserve as much lean mass as possible while losing fat. I did have a Bod Pod test after my first 10% weight loss. At 20%, I'll get re-tested to see how this is working. If my lean mass isn't being maintained, I'll definitely be adding more calories.
