Meh. Good that you were active today but I don't know. Is your activity level sedentary? Even so, I wouldn't log it.

It's up to you if you count it. If your weight loss stalls just stop counting it.

I'm new at this logging everything. Not very active but trying! Thanks for the help.

If you're hungry because you were more active than usual today, you could try eat like...75 calories back or something. You'll get the hang of it. If I go for a super long walk over the weekend that I don't usually take-I don't log it. I'd say it makes up for any little errors I made in the week with my logging.

It takes some time to figure out your personal sweet spot. There is some trial and error in all this. When in doubt try what you want, track your results, and adjust as needed. Good luck!

Being more active, whether that's workouts or cleaning or just finding reasons to get up more, is always great for you!

But you give MFP an estimate of how much you move in a day on average when you tell MFP your lifestyle (sedentary, lightly active, etc). So it actually gives you some calories for that already. And some days you may be a little more active than you said... but other days, maybe actually less active. (Yes, you can even be less than sedentary.)

So not logging things like cleaning the bathroom will help ensure you don't accidentally eat too much and slow down your weight loss. That doesn't mean it wasn't good for you in many ways! If you're trying to increase your general activity level, that's worth doing, and you should mentally count cleaning towards that effort.

You can also log it and change the calories burned to 1, or put a note in the notes field, if you would like to keep a log of your activities so that you can keep tabs on them, which may help if you are trying to move more.

How do you know what activity level to put in.....I guess I'm not sure what to put in sedentary or lighty active? My job is my most active part of my day 8 hour shift with two 13 minute breaks and one 20 minute lunch. The rest of my time at work I'm on my feet walking, not a slow walk either and lifting six 25lbs metal baskets a couple times an hour. Help please

I would say you are not sedentary.
Do you regularly mop like that or is it an unusual activity?
I would not log it if you do it pretty regularly. If it is a lot more activity than you usually do maybe log it.
Only eat back half of your calories earned from exercise.

I would say your activity level is active. You can always pick one and see if that works for you and then adjust it if necessary

If you got breathless, sweaty and are heart rate increased then go for it. Otherwise I guess you could only be cheating yourself. :)
