Net or Gross Calories

Does anyone know how RunKeeper calculates calories burned? Is it net calories or gross calories? Same question for MFP.

when a tracker gives you the burn, it has to be gross calories - we just talk about net cals on here because of mfp and the way it works.0

Cals burned are cals burned... there is no net or gross in that regard, is there?
Net and gross cals is in reference to your overall calorie intake.
Or am I not understanding the question?0 -

I know nothing about run keeper. However, in the MFP "reports" section you can request data for both net (total calories minus calculated exercise burn) and gross calories consumed.0
