I wish i could just watch what I eat without counting every calorie. But i tried that the last three months... and now I weigh more than ever. See, I used this site to lose 20 lbs a year ago. My motivation that time was to get pregnant. It worked! But now I am trying to get motivated to lose more weight with a 1 year old taking up all my time. I just dont feel like counting everything. It doesnt help that this site dosent seam to let you change your original weight. I am at 227.8 lbs... but its not going to track that I have lost anything until I get back to my original starting weight from last year. :( losing 1 lb per week... I have at leat 7 weeks of no progress on the tracker.( I was 220 last year and was down to 200 before gainig pregnancy weight.)

You can change your starting weight in here. I'm not sure if that will help with your motivation, but it's a start.

Go to "Check In". At the bottom there is a "EDIT PREVIOUS ENTRIES" tab. Press it. You'll see where you can enter your starting weight. Set it. Click Save.

So, now. This motivation thing. I like to try and find things that I want to be "fit" for. Like spring clothes, vacations, an event. That's how I keep my eye on the prize. You have a small child that you need to be a good role model for. If you are lighter, you can keep up with them easier.

My biggest motivation was just feeling like myself again. I had lost a ton of weight (50lbs), met my BF, who loves beer as much as he loves me, and my habits started to wain. Then 20lbs of that 50lbs I lose found me again. I felt miserable and I didn't like who I had become. So, back at it.

I know it's hard with a little one (I don't have kids, so maybe not from personal experience, but I know it can't be easy), but like anything, something can be worked in somewhere. Even if it's just changing your diet at first if you don't have the time to exercise. Once you have that down and weather is nice, take your little one on walks.

Thanks for the tip how to change original weight !
First you have to be realistic with your goals. Remember baby steps !!
You didn't put the weight on in a week and it all won't come off that fast either .
I was so discouraged at the time it was taking, it was because is was being flippant about my diary entry .
Now just a week and a day back onto it I'm down exactly 4 lbs may not be a lot to some people but I am happy and focused ...
Today is the first day of spring and I decided to buy a great pair or shorts a size smaller ... My goal .
I know you can do this too !!
    One step at a time

If you lost the weight before getting pregnant and that was your motivation please please trust me when I tell you that the greatest lessons your baby will take will throughout his or her life will be the things they see you do not what you tell them! I have 4 children and grandchildren and if I could go back in time the one thing I would have done when they were growing up was take better care of myself lead by example. I say this to you out of love and from experience! You deserve to be heathy and on doing so you will be giving your baby one of life's best gifts.

Thanks everyone. You are right I just need to change my determination from the fear of not having a baby. To being the best role model and mother I can be for her. My mother never seamed to care about her weight and taught me to over eat and drink tons of soda. I need to make the change so that my baby can see what you should really eat.
