I have been doing EOD fast of 500 calories for about 3 weeks now. It is the JUDDD my numbers are 500-600 calories on fast day and 1800 on alternate day. Here is the thing, obviously on the fasting days it can be hard but on the 1800 days I sometimes have a hard time eating that much!! I know there are alot of benefits said to be had from fasting just wondering if it really makes a difference. If I eat 1200 calories a day average does it matter how they are eaten on each day?? Hope this makes sense. Thinking just sticking to 1200 calories a day might be easier.

It doesn't make any difference. It's the averages that count. You should check out the intermittent fasting group. Some people restrict their eating to 8 or less hours a day to keep their calotie count down.

Do what fits your lifestyle. 1200 is dieting every single day. 5:2 (or JUDDD) is extreme dieting 2 or 3 days.

If you have trouble eating your maintenance (1800)....how did become overweight in the first place? Are you eating calorie dense foods....nuts, nut butters, olive oil, cheese, avocado.....all small portions that bring calories up.

I was eating way more then this before I started eating healthy. I quit smoking 2 years ago and when I did I gained about 30 pounds in 6 months!! I have been tracking what I eat since around the 1st of the year and have stopped eating alot of processed and junk food (most of the time  ) so my calories are alot lower now.
