Its because the results aren't extremely noticeable and its a very slow process :( Any suggestions to help me stay focused?

It's easy to get complacent when you're already a lot smaller that you were, I'm in the same boat. I just remind myself that I'm not happy where I am so there's nothing to do but keep going.

I know how you're feeling. I've got 7lbs left to lose. My motivation deserted me a month ago! What saved me was bumping up my calories to my goal weight maintenance cals. It has allowed me more daily calories, but with obviously slower weight loss which I'm fine with. It doesn't mean I religiously have to stick to that number everyday, there will be days I'll eat way under. It just puts me in a better head space and out of that punishing diet mode

It is so maddeningly so. I'm in the same boat. Today is husband's birthday, next weekend is mine. Lots of treats floating around. I'm somewhere between wanting to throw all caution to the wind, and wanting to throw all the treats to the wind!

I know how infuriating it can be! You are so close to your goal and for me I just really want to complete what I started. If you are not like me and obsessed with what the scale says you can work on toning/building strength. I started doing that about six months ago and though I have not lost anymore weight I have lost inches - though that is not helping my obsession with the scale it definitely makes a difference.

If you change your direct focus that might jump start your motivation.

I feel you. These last 5-10 pounds have been a pain in my butt. I barely lose a pound a month. My measurements are what keep me motivated. Finally lost another half inch on my waist and hips. Anyway, even losing a pound a month...I know I'll get to 130 someday. I've got my whole life to live and in the grand scheme of things it won't matter if I reach goal tomorrow or months from now.

I've been 2 pounds from my goal for 10 months, lol. I hear you. Just keep a small deficit.

I love your thoughts, arditarose. Thanks. Keeping the big picture is important. I'm tempted to be very swayed by the scale, but sometimes that is just too frustrating. It's like, hello? Life is happening. Screw the scale and go live it!

Why would you lose motivation if you've changed your eating habits and now have a sustainable plan in place? Weight loss and management is an everyday journey, not a marathon where you have to get to the finish line.

Those last few pounds are doing to take awhile to lose. My last four or so pounds took about 4 months to lose. I just stuck with the plan then, and once I was at maintenance, I still stuck to the plan. Now that I'm in maintenance, I'm still sticking to the plan and love the challenge of sticking to calorie goals, and sometimes going over just because I'm human and sometimes need to do that.

Hang in there, be patient, and make sure your eating plan is for a lifetime, not just during the time you need to lose weight. :)

No, I know. I give advice but don't always listen to my own. I definitely get frustrated but that's the frame of mind I TRY to have!
