I have got a hrm chest strap I can't get it to work right. I have tried everything and nothing seems to get it too work. I've tried it on my son and it worked perfect. I'm large chested (14j) and still about 50 kg to lose. Is this why it's not working....to much flab so it can't read??

are you strapping it up underneath your boobs? That's what worked for me0

That's where I use it. I've wet it with warm and cold water, use hrm gel and tried it dry. Tried moving it round wearing it backwards and even had a go above my chest. The fact it works on my son I know it works. So it's something to do with what it's doing. Because of my chest size it does end up under my bra. Could the under wire on it be effecting it? I have the basic one with the plastic part that goes across the chest. Would I be better off with one that's fully elastic??0

Maybe an HRM.watch? That is what I use. Very accurate.0

What kind of HRM do you have? I have the polar hr7 and I am large chested too. I wet the back of the strap under the electrodes and the electrodes with water, snap the hrm to the strap, and make sure to get a snug fit. It sits just under my breasts and I do not use an underwire bra. I have also found that the HRM does better when I pair it with the Polar Beat app on my smartphone than it does paired to my polar loop, because I think my boobs get in the way! Does the hrm have the ability to pair with your phone?0

Well gave it ago without underwire. Worked better but stull not right. Resting seems to read perfect. And just did about a three minute run. I'm far from fit in fact it's probably the most I've ever run. And it was only saying 85 and dropping but I was getting more puffed. I was looking at the graphs and when I'm resting there's little peaks but when I'm exercising it like goes flat at then jumps up or down a few beats and stays at that for a few moments then moves again. My exercise graph looks more like small stairs and a long plateu than small peaks I seen on examples of other people's.

When I wear my HRM, I keep the strap under my breasts, under my bra, under my sports bra. Literally flush contact with my skin. I'm busty too and have never had an issue with the underwire.
Is it new? When my Polar's battery started to die, it didn't read my heart rate right.
I'd talk to your HRM's customer service. You may have a defective strap/watch (even if it works for your son, it should work for you too!)0 -
Might change battery then just incase. I put it on my hubby and again seemed to work fine. So hopefully a battery change will get it working on me too0

I've got the Polar FT7 and H7, both with chest strap. The underwire bra isn't an issue. The contacts for the sensor are in the strap, and it has to be wet and flat on the skin. I tuck mine under the bra, and it stays put, even during swimming. If it gets twisted in skin folds, then it will lose contact. Low batteries have been another issue. Otherwise, I never had a problem.0
