Hi! I'm a high school teacher who had no food self control. I definitely emotional eat, and it began as stress eating after my first child. I'm here to get myself back on track to the me I used to be!

Tracking on MFP has been a big help. When you're accountable for everything you eat, it makes a difference. One thing that helped me a lot was the book "Mindless Eating" by Brian Wansink. Stay positive, though, and keep reaching out. Lots of people are willing to help!
  • Thank you for the book recommendation!

I'm the same way as far as emotional eating goes. Having no self control is a huge problem for me too. It doesn't matter if I'm happy, sad, or mad. I've learned that taking it a day at a time, even a meal at a time, is what is helping me.

I could have written your post - word for word!! Including the bit about being a high school teacher, haha. Usually by Friday I'm ready to eat everything in the house!!
  • Amen, sister! It's carbs for me. It is a very real craving for anything cakey or sweet.
