Hello, I am new here and trying to make a huge difference in my life. I suppose I should give you a little background information.
Once upon a time I was in very good shape. I served in the military and worked out all the time. Then I got injured. After that, my entire life changed. Between bouts of depression and the inability to workout and/or do anything to really make a real difference, I am finally in a position in my life to attempt to change things.
I never really watched what I ate, or even learned all the much about nutrition for that matter because I used to work out so much. So my struggles at this point are learning how to eat healthier (counting those calories and whats inside the foods I eat), and then learning how to work out again. I am unable to do all the workouts that I once could due to all the pain/injuries I have sustained which are greatly exacerbated by all the weight I have on me now.
This is going to be a long journey, but thanks to myfitnesspal I have been able to track my food so much easier than I was previously doing it on an Excel sheet. Well, I guess I am not really sure what else to say, that is about it for me.
Oh yeah, I am always looking for new great healthy recipes and/or other things related changing to a much healthier overall lifestyle. This seems like a great community and I look forward to being a long term member!

Welcome! You will notice counting calories is easy on here. I have never attempted to lose weight on my own. And it's working out. Don't get discouraged in the beginning. The weight didn't show up during the night. It would come off over night. I wish you the best. Good luck.0

Thanks so much! I am doing my best not to be discouraged. So far, I have a great support system and lots of help. I understand it will be a long journey, and I am here for the long haul!!
