Working on losing 50lbs by summer.Who is with me?

I wish! But it's an over-enthusiastic goal. Can it be done? Probably. Can it be done healthfully? Unlikely.
Sure, we'd all like to be rocking our bikinis by July, but health is more important than looking good on the beach.0 -
Please set yourself a realistic target otherwise you will get disappointed.
1-2lb a week is a healthy rate of loss.
Its all very well setting yourself a target, but it helps if you fully appreciate what you have to do to achieve it.
50lbs is at least 175,000 calories not eaten or burned less than your maintenance.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal
Is a good rule of thumb.0 -
Ok but its a goal still for me0

Awesome! I'm right there with you! I want to loose 50 pounds by end of May. I know we can do it! I've got 43 more to go.0

It took me a year to lose 50 pounds and I've been able to keep it off for three years, which I attribute to the slow and steady rate at which I lost as I created new healthy habits that could stick. Good luck...0

It won't do anything for your metabolism, but if you enjoy it, go for it. log it like everything else, and it can fit in your goals.0 -
