Syncing my fit it with MFP. Too many calories?

Recently synced my fitbit with MFP and the # of calories/ day has gone from 1200 to 1700-1800/ day. Should I really eat this much?

Do you have your fitbit set to lose the same amount of weight as mfp?

Well that depends on your stats and how active you are.

I lose weight on an average of 2000 calories a day.

My fitbit's calorie estimation comes out pretty close to my actual TDEE (slightly under in fact). For that reason, I trust it.

I think so...MFP is set at 2 lbs./ WK and I can't remember how to check on my fit bit what I set it at.

I've lost 40 lbs. so far but I am stuck. I am only walking right now since I had my gallbladder removed a month ago. I sit all day for my job but am able to get up and walk all around the hospital for 5-10 minutes every hour. I get over 10,000 steps/ day and have over 30 active minutes. My sister is really into fitness and weight lifting and she tells me I need to eat more than the 1,200 I was eating. I'm getting a bit frustrated.

You can learn more in MFP's Fitbit Users group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

If (and only if) you enable negative calorie adjustments, when you eat back your adjustments you're eating TDEE minus your deficit: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings

Go to fitbit.com. From the computer go to dashboard, then hover over the knife/fork. Click the wheel icon then you can change your setting.
From your phone go to profile then settings then scroll down to bottom and you'll find edit food plan.
  • Thanks! Yes both are set for 2 lbs./WK. It just seems like a lot of calories to eat if I'm trying to lose weight. I guess I'll try it and see what happens. I've been stuck for months so I guess I have nothing to lose.
