Plateau for a month?

Hi all,
This is my first post, but I'm hoping for some advice. I've been doing MFP for 10 weeks now religiously. I'm 5' 11" and started at 188 with a goal of 165. I have lost 16 lbs so far (172). I have been at this same weight for the last 4 weeks. I have been eating 1500 cals/ day, as I'm still nursing my one year old. I'm starting to get frustrated! I have tried doing a weekly cheat day, but other than that I don't know how to break this plateau or how long to wait it out!

I also find that the less weight there is, the longer it seems to take to disappear. It's like the body is fighting harder to hold on to the fat as the reserves dwindle. Just stick with it, imagine how you'll look and feel in a year with the proper diet and logging.0

I had a similar problem. I lost 10 pounds in the first month and then the weight stopped moving for the second month then started up again. It sucks and is super frustrating and unmotivating, but it will start back up again, just don't give up!0

If you lose 16 pounds in 6 weeks, and none in 4- you may just need to keep going as you are for another 4 then reassess.
Its likely a water weight issue. Meaning your water weight is up (due to hormones, or stress, or sleep issues, or new workout routines, or sodium) and its masking your weight loss.0 -
I've struggled to lose weight after having my son. He is two now and the weight just won't shift. I'm still breastfeeding too and from what I've been reading half of us just won't lose the weight until we have fully weaned the little guys. Since I'm intending to let my son self-wean I just have to accept how things are for me because he is far more important to me than extra body fat.
I would recommend you don't cut your calories too much and depending how many feeds your baby gets you may be eating too little to support yourself and your milk supply.
I'm focusing on strength training right now so that by the time I come to end my breastfeeding relationship with my son I will have a strong body and plenty of lean muscle tissue (even if it has a comfy blanket over it right now).
Try to think strong instead of thin. You've done really well so far and massive high five and kudos for feeding your baby to 12 months0
