Heard taking Omega fish oil was good for you...however, I seem to always be smelling fish!!! Is it possible the fish oil is giving me that scent? What have you learned about the benefits...

  • I found the same thing. I also didn't like the burps that came with fish oil. So I switched to Krill. You should check into it. It does cost more than fish oil, but I have seen better benefits. Here are a few links to learn about Krill

I had the same problem. I was taking Omega supplements, containing fish oil, and was constantly "burping up fish". I switched to Flaxseed Oil supplements, and am getting the same amount of Omega, and the burping doesn't happen. I take Health Balance Flaxseed Oil, 1000 mg supplements. They have 530 mg Omega 3, 100 mg Omega 6, and 120 mg Omega 9 in each softgel tablet. I buy a huge bottle at Costco.

Yuck, fish oil. I'd rather just eat fish a few times a week or half of a tuna sandwich. I get Omega-3s from walnuts and flax seed, mixed in with cut-up fruit and non-fat yogurt. Delish and no burping!

I switched to the liquid about 6 months ago and I don't smell the fish anymore. Since I've been taking it consistently, I've seen that my moods are more stable and my joints don't hurt anymore. My hair is better than it was six months ago, but I haven't noticed any real changes in my skin. I'm taking it mostly because they think it may help fight age-related dementia. I figure it has to do some good things related to that since it's such a good anti-inflammatory.

I use krill oil and it doesn't repeat on me or make me smell funny.
