Chocolate Milk recipe

Every now and then I'll crave some chocolate milk. The Hershey's syrup or Nesquick option adds so many more calories than needed. I tried something the other day that blew my mind.
It's only 100 calories per 8 ounces (could be lower depending on how much cocoa you use).
1 cup of milk (I use a lactose-free, fat-free milk) - 80 calories
1 tbs of cocoa (you could use less depending on your taste) - 20 calories
Add Splenda for sweetening to taste - 0 calories
1/8 tsp. Vanilla extract (optional) - I did this the first time but it tastes fine without it.
It's surprisingly good. I must warn you that there is a lot of stirring. You can make it in the blender but it gets VERY frothy (not necessarily a bad thing). Thought I'd pass this along!

Neat. You could add some seltzer water and make it into an eggcream.0

I make chocolate milk with splenda, cocoa powder and unsweetened almond milk. < 50 calories per cup. I use a blender cup and it mixes quite nicely with a few shakes.0

Almond milk! Even better! I wish I had that option. I'd have to start drinking chocolate milk with an Epipen.0

Mix the cocoa in with a tiny bit of milk and get a paste before adding in the rest of the milk (slowly) and sweetener. Powdered cocoa "flocculates" -- floats on top and clumps. You never want that.0

Have you tried Ovaltine? It is really yummy and I do not think many cals!0

What's an eggcream?
It contains no eggs or cream.

Does the Splenda and cocoa have a bitter aftertaste?0

i have a slightly different recipe, but it works well and tastes great.
1.5 cups of milk (whole tastes the best)
1.5 cups of cocoa pebbles and/or cocoa puffs
mix ingredients delicately with a spoon
eat the cereal at a leisurely pace, being careful to not consume too much of the milk yet
once the cereal is gone, you can use a straw, the spoon, or just lift the bowl to your face to get all that chocolatey goodness0
