I have been doing the walk/run interval thing trying to ease into running, constantly telling myself "omg, I can't run 2 minutes" and so off I go - with that mindset - walk 1, attempt to run 2, staring down the timer on the treadmill - omg, only 30 seconds, oh, I'll surely die - death is coming for me...60 seconds...oh, dear God, I welcome sweet death...etc. I finally decided, you know what, it's all mental and I'm my own road block in this. Watching the time is setting myself up for failure, and negative self talk to boot. So, today I decided to experiment on myself (I've been doing that a lot lately - just finished a 10 day cleanse, and am giving up my scale (which I'm addicted to) for 10 days, etc) and cover the timer with a towel and just go until I can't go anymore. Guess what? I ran a mile...without stopping (well, ok there was a pause in the middle because my friend came and we went to do turbo fire so I did about half, turbo fire, and then went back again and did the other half - which is even more impressive cuz ya know how freaking intesne turbo fire is? lol). Was it at record speed? No...about an 11 - 12 minute mile. But, it was a mile...all running...no walking...no watching the clock...and NO negative self talk! It CAN be done! POSITIVE. None of this I can't, I won't, I don't think I can...we're all guilty of it! I'm PROOF you CAN do anything you set your mind to! You can too!

    There's nothing here.... maybe that's why it's 99% mental?

That's seriously annoying! I'm already cranky and this was a super highlight of my day that I wanted to share - now it's making me crankier! :) I don't want to be obnoxious and start a new thread...ugh :frown:
