I saw a calorie-free pasta substitute on a Extreme Weight Loss, American reality show. Supposedly it has no calories and has the same texture as real spaghetti. Do u guys have any experience with this product? Do u think it is safe to consume? If yes, then what are the recipes you are using?

I have some in my fridge.
It DEFINITELY isn't the same texture as real spaghetti. Its an acquired texture. And the texture is really dependent upon how you cook it too. Its not bad....but its not the same, KWIM?
RINSE IT REALLY REALLY well once you take it out of the package. The water that is in the package smells funky and leaves an aftertaste.
I generally mix it 50/50 with regular pasta to get a large volume with less calories.0 -
I've used them. You have to rinse them well when you open the package (and they really smell bad!). The best thing is to boil them and then eat them with sauce, or cook them in a stir fry. The texture is a bit rubbery, but not too bad. I like them. I really like having them with just some butter and grated cheese. they're about 20 calories for the whole package. (some people don't like them...it's all a matter of taste.)0

Do NOT call it pasta.
It is a perfectly serviceable 0 calorie food that works well in some dishes, especially asian noodle dishes or anything where the noodle is not supposed to be the star of the show. Pad thai and shiritaki puttanesca are my two favorite uses.
Do NOT treat it like traditional pasta, or you will be sadly disappointed.
Rinse it well and then fry the crap out of it in a dry pan before you use it or it will smell weird and be rubbery. After you rinse and dry-fry (for longer than you would believe necessary or possible It's still chewy, but it's no longer like biting into rubber bands.
I actually like them quite a bit - they're really filling.0 -
Awesome! Thank you guys for replies. Now I am looking forward to trying a new product :-)0
