does kjs burned during the course of day just performing incidental exersise not with elevating heart rate produce the same weight loss results as a day that burned equal kjs but with HIIT exersise and the same kjs intake consumed?
Also does a heart rate monitor register metabolim when it measures kilojules burned?

No. High intensity exercise elevates your metabolism long after the exercise ends. It also promotes the growth of muscle tissue by providing more load. More muscle = faster metabolism over time. Heart rate monitors MEASURE heart rate and ESTIMATE energy expenditure using equations that make assumptions based on age, weight and correlations between heart rate and MVO2.

Thank you for your reply to my question. Is there anyway to mesure you own personal metabolisim. How would you find out what your true personal kj expenditure was through out the day. I need to do meal plan based on my actual kilojules burned so as I know how much to eat or add through out day.

If I wanted to make my own jam using pureed fruit stevia & gelatine would I have to cook the fruit first or can I make it using raw fruit puree?

No. High intensity exercise elevates your metabolism long after the exercise ends.

Do a little more reading on EPOC, it's not as significant as proponents of HIIT would like to make you think......(having said that I do steady state cardio, HIIT & strength as I'm convinced each carries it's own benefits)

To the OP, the main benefit of raising your heart rate is improved cardio vascular fitness. As to estimating your own daily energy expenditure there are numerous web sites that have BMR and TDEE calculators.....Google is your friend.

I would suggest the polar heart rate monitors for exercise tracking. The body bug is supposed to be the most accurate if you want to track calories burned all day, you do have to pay a monthly monitoring fee. This is a great site for how to calculate calorie needs and miscellaneous stuff http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators/tdee-calculator.html. The only way to get a extremely accurate calorie burn is if you go in and have your VO2 measured somewhere.
For the jam you want to cook it first. You really need to at least blanch to stop enzymes from breaking down and spoilage.

Thank you to those who responded to my questions.
No Google is not my friend. I find it time consuming & frustrating too many conflicting so called answers/evidents, It really does my head in.
