Is there anyone else out there that spins? I believe my fitbit may have tracked some movement while in my spin class today.. but calories burned was no where, where it should have been.. Should I also log spinning in MFP?

Yes, you log it and you have to put the times in so it doesn't count the steps as walking. Of course it won't have the same calorie count as it just assumes you're walking, which doesn't burn as many calories as spin. Unless you have the Fitbit charge HRM.

Do you have the Charge HR? If not, Fitbit does the calorie adjustment based on steps and I wouldn't go by that. I have the Charge HR and it said I burned 274 in Spin today. Doesn't seem like a lot, but remember MFP tends to over-exaggerate calorie burn on exercises. If you log exercise in MFP it will sync over to Fitbit after a few moments.

Either way, I'd log it in MFP. If you have the Charge HR, I would go by those calories. All other Fitbits, the MFP calories.

I've got the Zip. So just log spin as however many calories you burned in MFP. I also did spin today.

I spin and wear a Polar FT4 to track my heart rate and calorie burn. The chest strap transmitter is nice because I can just wrap the watch onto the handlebars and monitor my heart rate without looking at my wrist. On those sprints I hunker down and see how high I can get that heart rate and maintain it. I generally burn 750 to 850 in a 60 minute ride, which I log manually into MFP.

I log all my non-step-based exercise on fitbit.com and all my food on MFP. As long as you only log it once you should be all set.

I attach my zip to my pant leg when I ride. I have found that it provides a reasonable estimate for average speeds/resistance, but would be an underestimate for hills or faster pace.
