Office Snacks

Ok everyone I need help. My co-workers are under a lot of stress and they keep bringing in junk to eat. Four of us are working really hard to watch what we eat. We have tried the idea that no one brings in food but this does not seem to work.

I need snack ideas that are tasty yet not full of calories.

    Everyday I keep a bowl of fresh fruit or cut up veggies at my desk! :)
    Last week I was the grape queen as they were on sale. LOL

    *Edit: I also keep raw pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds handy!

    Snack bars are filling and low calorie :)
  • Log onto graze.com its great they will send you out a box a week of 4 different little boxes of healthy snacks and its really cheap in fact the first box is free!!!!

    I used to keep bags of spinach, string cheese, and some hard-boiled eggs in our office kitchen and convince myself to wait "30 minutes" before going to make myself a little salad as a snack. Otherwise I have nonfat yogurt, more string cheese, and sometimes even shredded chicken (I eat it with tabasco sauce). I find these much more satisfying than eating a bag of skittles. :D

    I'm the same way. I work in a small office where everyone goes to lunch and has snack days. Everyone says they're "watching their weight" but they all eat whatever they want. I have just had to bring my own lunch and own snacks. And on days where we share lunches and snacks I have to hold myself accountable and bring in something healthy that I can eat and share. I eat lots of things like special k chips, luna bars and yogurt. Fruit is good but high in carbs so I try to stick to a piece of fruit with my breakfast so it has more time to burn off during the day rather than sitting with me later in the day as a snack. Either way you acknowledging the difficulty is a step in making progress toward your own goal. Hold your ground.

    Luckily, we have a fridge in the office so that helps a lot. My go-to office snacks are grapes, yogurts, snack/fiber bars, wheat thins and laughing cow cheese, string cheese, and small ziplock backs of low-cal chips or popcorn to satisfy the crunchy cravings. One thing I recently discovered that I LOVE....Popcorn Indiana-Aged white cheddar popcorn. You have can have 2.5 cups for 150 calories and thats quite a bit of popcorn! I usually only put around 1.5 cups in a ziplock bag and bring it to work to munch on.

    - grapes/cherries
    - popcorn
    - low calorie hot chocolate packs
    - mini meringue cookies
    - biscotti
    - individual packs of freeze dried fruit
    - dried nori strips (seaweed)
    - sugar free gum/hard candy
    - instant soup sachets
    - individual oatmeal packs (if you have access to boiling water, obviously...)
    - sugar free jello cups

    I also keep pouches of no-drain tuna (I love this straight up! Also great tossed on salad, crackers, etc), small protein bars (love the Clif mini ones), pre-portioned packs of cereal/granola (then can grab a yogurt when on a break- for a heavier snack), packs of crackers...
