I recently (8 months ago) had a weight loss surgery. I'm starting a new workout regime and want to find people in similar situations. Support each other and motivate each other.
Here are my stats so far. Highest weight, 323. Surgery date - July 30, 2014. Current weight, 210!! Join up if you need that support and accountability.

I also had WLS on Nov. 12, 2014 my highest weight was 320, day of surgery 313, and today 239. The tool i have been given works great but sometime my head likes to argue. Most of the time my tool and will power when, but sometimes my head does. Mu husband also had the surgery in Dec 2014 and he has lost over 80lbs. Sometimes its very frustrating because the weight is just "falling" off him and he never worksout and i bust my bootie for every pound. This has been one of the toughest adventures we have been on. we have learned a lot been angry a lot and sad a lot. But with the changes that we have been seeing in our health (i am off my blood pressure meds now), our energy level is double or tripled, our clothes are falling off, and other things i wont go into are great. But everything we have gone through to get here, is worth every tear, every sweat droplet.0

I understand! My husband is in the military, he has to stay fit. He frustrates me, and motivates me all at the same time. Lol @ other things you won't get into! I understand!
It's hard when you go through this drastic change. I've officially lost over 100lbs since surgery. Keeping that in mind, when I stall, it's hard! And frankly ticks me off. I then know that I have to change something. My routine, water, protein, intake, exercise, something, until I see the # go down again.0 -
I had WLS March 1014. I have lost 112 lbs. I have been at a one month staff. That is super frustrating. I am training for a 5k now which is one of my goals. IF people think WLS is the easy way out they are TOTALLY wrong. I still want to lose 21 more lbs. I still see a fat girl in the mirror everyday. I wish I could get my husband to do the surgery as he is overweight and has medical problems. Cheers! *drinks her protein drink0

Water has been very hard for me to get in lately. I too still see the "fat girl" and it kinda makes me uncomfortable when people gush over "how great I look" or "how pretty I am now" or blah blah blah. It makes me happy but uncomfortable. Sometimes I want to say what I wasnt pretty before? I never do I always just say thank you.0

I want to start running too.0

I had wls Nov 17, 2014. I'm down 54lbs with 11 to go. I can relate to the head games. It's an every day struggle. It's so hard to get all of my protein in. I don't have any trouble getting all of my water in. It's really nice to know I'm not alone.0

It's great to hear that we aren't alone!! For the water intake issue, have you tried POWERade Zero? It has been my savior! Also, throw some mint in your water. Change it up. I went to a farmers market last weekend and got some great fresh chocolate mint! I have 3 boys, and even they were getting into it.

Hi ladies! I'm in process for getting WLS within the next 6 months. It's interesting to read your comments about post WLS! I hadn't heard from anyone who has had it before and is still trying to get fit so thank you for this thread!0

I was sleeved 1/13/15. I started working out 4 weeks after the surgery. I started off just walking for 30min. Then I slowly started incorperating weights. Now I run/walk for and hour and do between 15-30min of weights everyday. I'm also training for a 5k Mud Run at the end of April. I was 227 (HW was 249.9) day of surgery and am now 188. My goal is 155.0

Here's a group in case you haven't found it yet:

I started exercising seriously a few months before surgery and I pestered my post-op appointments with questions about when I could start exercising again? My surgery was in June 2014 and by August I was on my bike for the first time in years. Shortly after that I went for the first big walk after surgery and I haven't looked back since.
As for water, I have a water bottle by my bedside so I drink as soon as I get up, a tea when I get to work, and a liter water bottle that I keep with me. When I'm not eating I'm sipping.0 -
i have not tried the powerade zero, heard good stuff about it but not tried it yet. i have been getting lemon water from sonic and adding chia seeds. i love lemon water, i try to make it at home but it just doesnt taste the same. maybe its the ice they use??
i forgot it say what i had earlier but i had theVSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy) and so did my hubby0 -
I am a RNY girl. So it's been challenging, trying to actually meet my goals for protein and calories. I'm just now able to eat enough food to get my protein without supplements.
My big issue now is skin. Do any of you wear compression clothing to work out in? The more movement I do, the more uncomfortable it gets. Have you found a fabric/brand that breathes, but keeps all your bits in place? That doesn't cost an arm and leg?0 -
had surgery 1.22.15, down 40 lbs then stalled. upped my intake and started at the gym plus walking at work. Im slow because I was hospitalized for a week due to complications at 1 week post. loving it though. I was 240 surgery day just waiting to get to onederland! I am 40 yrs old and 5'2"0
