ive been kind of wanting a fitbit but just realized most of them dont have the HRM on them except the 2 more expensive ones (which isnt out of the question...i just like options).
so now im kind of more open to other choices. i thought id come here and ask what everyone else uses, likes, and suggests.

What, if any, fitness tracker best fits your needs depends on what you do.
  • I have the Polar FT4. Inexpensive and I love it.

Fitbit HR ... Love it! Easy synch w mfp bout it on your wrist let it calf the burn. Fitbit .com will show ur cardio, peek, and fat burn chart for your tracked exercise based on HR. Sleep pattern chart. Step chart. Calories burned in 15 min intervals. There's nothing I don't love about it!

I really like my Polar FT7. The only thing I'd suggest is wetting the chest strap when you put it on, otherwise it sometimes has trouble picking up your heart rate until you really start to sweat. Good luck!

Ahhh ... the ever present recommendations for low end HRMs without any assessment of the OP's activities.

As long as you're not looking for accurate calorie burns, any of the name brands (Polar, Garmin, etc) do a good job of tracking heart rate.

so if you work out for 40 minutes it counts 30 of them? Im confused by the 15min intervals.

I use to have HR monitor. Didn't care much for it. It was too uncomfortable. Ended up getting a fitbit flex. It doesn't have a heart rate monitor on it but I wouldn't trade it for the world. My wife's got the fitbit charge which is one step above and she love's hers. The fitbits will do all the math for you even if it doesn't have a HR monitor on it.
