Hoping someone can give me some advice, long story short, i started my weight loss journey over a year ago and lost 80 pounds! Previous to that my husband and I suffered a miscarriage and had put our family on hold. We are starting to try again and the possibility of a pregnancy is there, I do go to the gym still 4 days a week, mixing weights and cardio. I am afraid of doing too much that it can possibly cause a miscarriage? Is that even possible? People are saying if you strain or stress the body this can happen. I don't want to lose my gymtime but this is more important. Anyone have experience or knowledge on what is ok and when it is ok to go back to my routine?

Thanks!

Probably a question better suited for a doctor more familiar with you. My first thought would be no - unless you're maxing out and really straining I don't see why it would be an issue- especially if it's allready something you are doing.

This is something that you need to speak with your doctor about. And it is also something that not every doctor agrees on.

This is not advice, this is information I was given.

The consensus I've gotten from an OBGYN, my own doctor and a friend who is also a doctor is that it should not cause any problem with the baby, short of dropping the weight on yourself. I was told horseback riding and contact sports are the concerns.
The basic rule was I could continue doing what I was already doing.
I was comfortable following their recommendations but at least 2 of them knew of my whole history.

    Good luck.

    I'm sorry for your loss.
Check with your dr, but I'd guess not. If you're regular enough you should know if you are pregnant within a month. In that time the embryo would be tiny and tucked away so I don't think it could come to much harm!

I'm ttc as well, good luck!

I agree a doctors advice might be needed but I don't think it's anything to worry about. I was trying to conceive and read that excercise is fine. But my routine was kinda mild though. I had a miscarriage also and can see how it may cause concern. Def talk your doctor I bet it's fine

What I've been told by pregnant ladies who have been told by their doctors (never been myself, but it's something I've wondered and asked about) is that a major change in what you're doing is the biggest threat, rather than doing too much. But yes, ask your doctor. Don't take my 4th party advice as gospel.
