For Cyclists with HRM

I don't yet have a HRM as disposable income is low. So I have to use the online calculators. I have a hybrid bike and not a road bike. My speed averages 14 mph. For a 90 minute bike ride the calculators are saying I burn 1150 calories (I'm 190). That seems like a lot. I generally just log 900 assuming it is off by a bit.
For those of you with HRM how off do you find the online calculators?

Hi there, my hrm gives me 1/3 to 1/2 of the calories MFP gives me! My hrm hates me lol!!! mine does seem rather more extreme than most but I do cycle hills and work my butt off but get allocated way less cals..... i used to book thru mfps database but not quite eat all.... good luck!0

I'll give you my example.
the other day I did 45min of 17km/hrs, hrm says 301 cal
with this site says 636 cal, so the reality is half0 -
Yikes, that is kinda what I was thinking. Trying to figure out why I am not losing the weight even though I am sticking to MFP guidelines. I think overestimating my workout cals is the most likely source. Really need to just spend the hundred bucks.0
