community of friends that are on gluten free, dairy free, and reduced sugar and starch diets

I am looking to build a community of friends that are on gluten free, dairy free and reduced sugar and starch diets due to health issues or concerns. To support one another and give advice; on products, convenience foods, how to feel full longer, and the change that everyone one of us faces when we are told. You have to give up the things that you loved to eat, that just don't love you back. The best way I can describe it is when you are sitting in the doctors office and the doctor comes in and says I just got your tests back and you are gluten, lactose and insulin intolerant; and all that is going through your head is I have 200.00 worth of groceries in my house I cannot eat, now what.....

I gave up ask of these things after a heavy dose of antibiotics (during my labor) destroyed my gut health. Just cutting sugar, dairy and gluten out resulted in a 12 lb weight loss in less than 5 weeks. I'll never go back, and would be happy to be a support to one another.

I'm gluten free and lactose intolerant too - I may or may not be able to do cheese and yoghurt (still playing with my diet to see what's up). My family history is also full of diabetes so I try to keep to pretty low gi foods (although this week hasn't been too good). My diary is open if you want to look for meal ideas.

It does sound a bit like Paleo, yes. Those folks would probably have quite a bit to offer.

I am not interested in the Paleo diet at all, I think evolution dose not want to go back to eating how we were years ago.

I am having the same issue with cutting out cheese and greek yogurt. Its such a challenge to remind myself to eat more veggies and meat and not fruit. But slowly I have noticed my cravings for fruit decreasing. I guess I just have to keep going.
    *Good luck everyone!*

I've been completely gf for 20+ years. I also can't eat dairy, eggs, garlic, green beans, almonds or garlic. (Weird I know, but life got much better after all this got figured out. )
Let me know how I can help. :)

I'm pretty much dairy&soy free due to my wife/daughter being intolerant of it. There are some dairy free cheeses around that actually taste ok! I was very sceptical at first but surprised.
  • Hi I'm gluten free for 5 years (Celiac) and have been trying to go Dairy free and reduced sugar as well but those two have been really tough. Would love to join your group for support/advice I can provide a LOT of GF tips to anyone interested.
