Weight loss to improve health

Hi everyone. Well I have recently been diagnosed with some health issues.
1. Fatty liver damage
2. Borderline diabetic
3. High cholesterol
My doctor believes that if I lose 20 lbs I may be able to reverse the liver damage and then the other 2 issues will also be reversed.
I have been attempting to lose weight since January. I have been stuck at 10 lbs down.
I am 5 ft 4 in and when I began I was 175 lbs now I am at 165
I go back to check my liver again in June. I am feeling very discouraged right now about reaching my goal by June.
The only thing I have changed is that I no longer drink coke which I used to drink 2 a day. And now I try to drink more water but some days it's very hard. I am trying to eat more meals a day because I am used to only have breakfast and dinner.
What else can I do? What had helped you guys?

Track your calories and eat at a deficit, as per the way this website is designed to be used.
You can eat just 2 meals a day if you want. Doesn't matter.0 -
are you saying that you lost 10lbs when you stopped drinking Coke?0

I do believe that helped a lot. I haven't began an exercise regimen. And my meal planning hasn't been great. I am trying to cut out pastas and trying to replace them with whole grain items, for example I've been using quinoa instead of rice and whole grain pastas stuff like that.

So are you saying that I can eat just two meals so long as I'm within my calories?
My Dr sent me to a weight loss program. They say we must eat 6 meals a day! Breakfast, lunch and dinner and 3 snacks in between. It's been nearly impossible for me!0 -

When you eat and how often doesn't matter much. Use this website to get the correct calorie goal for yourself, and then eat that much food. Don't make it harder than it has to be!

Ultimately, it comes down to whether you are eating fewer calories than you are burning or not. Diets can give you ways to accomplish that, but following the diet doesn't guarantee weight loss, because you may find a loophole that allows you to eat too much.0

Use the tools on this website to journal the food you're eating, and eat at a calorie deficit. It doesn't matter how often you eat, just so long as you keep that deficit going.0

Thanks everyone that definitely makes it sound easier than 6 meals a day. I'm sure I can manage to eat with limited calories rather than eat all day lol0

Yes, I only eat either breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner-it works for me and I get one meal that's large-just the way I like it!0

Yeah that is how i normally would eat. I will start my day with a coffee then have breakfast around lunch time and end my day with a somewhat big dinner.0 -
One word:deficit.
It is both necessary and sufficient.
Nothing else matters for weight loss.
