Drinking tea

So I have really been enjoying tea lately. I've been drinking the christmas season ones right now, so I was wondering can I count that as my water intake too, because it doesn't have any type of carbs, fat, or sugar in it.
Tea is so wonderful in northern MI when it is freezing cold outside!

I'm a tea drinker all year round. Even in the summer when you make your own iced tea you can control how much sugar you pu tin and they flavor and all that. It's a great low cal alternative to soda.
I do count it toward my water intake but you should be careful becuase tea is a natural diruretic.0 -
My trainer has told me that tea can count towards my water intake, if it's herbal and caffeine-free. There are alot of nice Christmasy teas out there (I prefer Stash's "White Christmas"). Although it is green tea (caffeinated). I usually have an extra 8 oz glass of water for every cup (8oz) of caffeinated tea or coffee I have in a day. So, if I have 2 caffeinated tea in a day (not abnormal for me), I'll aim for 10 glasses of water instead of 8.
Just one trainer's perspective!0 -
The kind I am drinking is caffeine free, and all that jazz. Even though I am drinking a lot of tea, I am also drinking a lot of water too....
What exactly does diuretic mean?0 -

It makes you pee
I personally count tea towards my intake of water so long as its not caffeinated.0 -
i also count my tea because i drink like 4 cups a day at least. plus my 3 cups of coffee(i dont count toward water) and also drink 4 refills of my H2O bottle a day. and honestly i think adding all the water to my diet has helped me tremendously. before i was only drinking tea or coffee i was losing but not as steady as i do now.
yes count it. the gingerbread is my fav this time a year, and its even better after i wrestle with my 6 year old over it. he loves it too.:laugh:0
