ok I have pacer to count my steps for the day, but when I walk/jog I use run keeper for some reason when I look at my activity it double logs my run keeper 3 or 4 miles and gives me full credit for pacer, I go back on and drop one run keeper to 1 minute but should I not have both linked I am sure it's giving me way to many exercise calories..,,,suggestions?

It sounds like they are both linked so you are getting double credit. Changing 1 of the entries to 0 or 1 calorie burned is one way to adjust it. The other way is to just use one. Also, MFP over estimates calories so be careful not to eat them all back.

Ok thanks! I also thought about pauseing pacer when I use run keeper, still not sure why run keeper is adding in twice!
  • Sorry cant help but perhaps you could tell me how to get mfp to count my walking? It doesnt register my activity!

I recently synched mapmyrun to myfitnesspal and let it record & synch my past two runs. I also use my Garmin with HRM to track my runs. The runs synched from mapmyrun is WAY over-generous with calories burned. Where my Garmin says I burned 240 calories on my run, mapmyrun records me at 400 calories! Way too huge a discrepancy! I think I'm better off just manually entering my exercise calories.

Do you have a smartphone? You download the Pacer app then go into MFP and give it access I'll have to go see where you add it lol it's been awhile

I have found that MFP adds extra calories to the RunKeeper calories. Not double and not multiple entries. Just extra calories.

I don't use any other devices.

What kind of a smartphone do you have? My iPhone 6 was doing the same thing. Until I figured out that my Health App and My Polar app were both syncing with the MFP. To fix it I simply went into settings-privacy-ihealth- then turned off My Fitness Pal. That way when my Polar app synced with health app the data would be there, but when the polar app connected to the MFP the health app wouldnt upload the same data. Hope that helps

On days I run, I delete my Pacer/iPhone 6 pedometer calories just to be sure.
