Being Coeliac and lupus and trying to lose weight staying on around 1200 calories is hard work, anyone got any tips ... Please feel free to add me. All help and advice welcome and any I can give back... I have lost 5lb so far but need to lose more. Gluten free food has so much more sugar etc in and need to know how others are doing it!
I recored all the food I eat and some days I do better than others. Looking for others in the same position! I'm sure we can help each other!

I eat gluten free. I rarely eat "gluten free" products because I try to eat lower carbs. So instead of a grain, I'll have some beans, or another filling, fibre filled carb.
I haven't lost any weight in about a month, but I'm fitting a smaller size, so I must be doing something right! :)

I also have hashimotos and ankylosing spondylitis, two autoimmune diseases.

Oh right, I was just speaking to another lady on another blog and she said she keeps her carbs down to 40% so looking to do that. My problem is I love rice and have gluten free pasta as that only substitute I really use cause most aren't very nice. So what meals do you go for then? Tryna lose weight as I put it on when I quite smoking over a year ago but wanna lose the weigh and get back into my size tens... Lost 5lb in nearly 80 days but still a fair bit to go... Any recipes or options I can try be great if u can suggest.

Try subbing naturally gluten free vegetables for your simple carbs: lettuce wraps for tacos/burgers, collard/greens wraps for sandwiches, cauliflower rice, vegetable noodles, etc.

You may want to double check your calories against http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ MFP suggested 1240 cal per day for me and according to the nutritionist I see, my body requires over 1500 cal just to perform daily functions.

I have AS and feel a lot better when I limit processed carbs. I rarely have any issue if I make my own breads/desserts. Have you tried different types of rice and see if one works better for you? I eat a lot of black beans, pintos, and lentils instead of rice or potatoes.
