I have been wanting to get an HRM, but I don't know where to start or which one is good... any ideas? Also, I would want one that's at a fairly decent price. Thanks in advance! :D

Polar and Garmin are great products. I have a Polar FT4 and I love it! I find that the HRMs with chest straps are a lot more accurate in determining your calorie burn.

I have the Polar Ft4 also, and I LOVE it. Easy to use and easy to set up, and the chest strap is comfortable. One day I forgot I was wearing it and forgot to take it off!!

Definitely one with a chest strap. I was going to get a cheaper one, but I ended up getting a Garmin Forerunner 305 and I love it, it wasn't to much more than the cheaper ones since I found a great deal online. I got that one because I really wanted the GPS feature so that I knew how far I went when I hike or run. If you are looking for something cheaper (under $100) I know some people who have Sportline HRMs that you can get at Wal-Mart and no one has complained about them.

I recently bought the sportline HRM at walmart and I absolutely love it. They had one that was 27dollars, but didn't have the chest strap. I got the 47 dollar model with the chest strap. It works great! At Costco they carry the new balance one for 39 dollars at the jewelry counter. Hope this helps. At Walmart they are with the fitness equipment, not at the pharmacy area. I say this because I asked the pharmacy once and they told me walmart didn't carry them. Well they do. lol.

    Polar / Garmin.

Polar is the best in the industry and works with most cardio equipment at gyms.

Thanks everyone! I am going to look those up! Also, may sound like a stupid question, but do HRMs tell you cals burned or do you have to do the equation? :/

It will tell you how many calories you burned. :) Mine I can also plug into my computer and it gives me all of the information in one place.
