So I work in a well known pizza place on the weekend and find that this is the complete downfall and undoing of what would otherwise be an OK - good week. Is anyone else in a similar position? Any good tips for working a 12 hour shift and keep within goals?!

Not in the same boat but maybe eat before working? Bring your own food?
If you can change for a day you can do it. One day at a time.

Eat before you go in? Bring your own lunch/dinner or find places nearby to eat that won't sabotage you?

I do eat before and I bring 'lunch' haha. Trouble is, I usually work at night so I sleep all day (weekends only) and I think I feel more of a drain because of the job, it just draws me towards all those carbs! Doesn't help that it tastes so good. I think I need to bring tasty food that I can eat cold, that I'll want to eat over the pizza.

I think, essentially, the main problem is my will-power!

Thanks for the suggestions guys - one day at a time. I like it.

Do you get free food there? Maybe try making a very thin pizza with loads of veggies. Do they have a salad bar?

Get more sleep. Sleep helps with with feeling better and helps with weight loss. :)

Yes, I do, makes it all the harder! I have gotten a little better, I only take it now when it's hot and fresh, unlike in the beginning. Haha they don't even sell water never mind have a salad bar! I do like the veggies on the pizza though so it's not just crap I'm stuffing my face with. I bring my own water and so far have been quite good at staying away from the fizzy drinks, apart from the odd time!

Ahh ha Roda Rose! If only! I work nights but only on the weekend - I know how unhealthy this is but I don't have a choice at the mo. And I have chronic fatigue syndrome (which I think is undiagnosed underactive thyroid due to a strong family history). I was diagnosed a few years ago so it has nothing to do with the job (only the last year) although I know that shift work can't help.

So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place on that front :(

Not in the exact same situation, but weekends always seem to be my downfall as well! Try packing a healthy lunch and snack to bring with you so you are not stuck in a position where you are forced to eat whatever you can find or so you don't get overly hungry and get tempted to over eat and binge on pizza. Also, I don't know if you all offer salad, but that could be a good option if you forget to bring a lunch

I brought salad and separate carrot an cucumber sticks last night, back in the fridge now! I did have an orange though and was lucky, there was thin crust of my favourite pizza! I think it takes like 100 kcals off a slice :) will take the salad tonight again...
