Freezing avocado?

Avocados are wicked cheap right now and I'd love to stock up. Can I freeze them (chopped, in bags) for smoothies, or will they be gross?

Awesome! Thank you for posting. I've also discovered that I can get a few more days out of an avocado if I vacuum seal the half with the pit in it. It looks pretty strange but it works!0
