I mostly eat healthy, I train at the gym 3 nights a week and I am part of a dance group so train for 4-5 hours each week. I always seem to maintain the same weight but never lose it. Any advice is welcome :)

Eating "mostly" healthy, training at the gym and dance group doesn't mean squat in terms of losing weight unless you have created a calorie deficit. Are you weighing and honestly & accurately logging your food and drink?

If you are at maintenance, you are at a caloric equilibrium - congrats!. Now you need to determine what that equilibrium is in terms of daily calories - weigh and log all your food and drink - and accurately log your exercise calories. When you find that number (an average after about 2-3weeks of tracking your maintenance), decrease that number by 15-20%. Voila, weight loss!

Glad to hear you're ready to do this. Your exercise will be a great help, but at the end of the day your weight change (either losing or gaining) is based on the difference between the calories going into your body and the calories going out.

So just choose a reasonable weight loss goal (no more than 1kg/2lb per week) and log everything you eat. Make sure to weigh your food, otherwise it can be very easy to underestimate how many calories you are eating. Stick to your daily calorie goal, and before too long you should see your results.

    Good luck!
  • Thanks Guys. I never go over the daily recommended allowance, in fact its very rare I ever reach it. I always try to burn between 250-300 calories each visit to the gym. I have stiff ankles, due to dancing, so squating is hard for me as I have restricted movement. I have a relatively flat stomach but there is a little flab and I finding it hard to get rid off.
