which is better? fasting or eating small amounts frequently?

I've heard that both work and both don't work so I'm wondering from experience of both sides which one works? I like the eating frequently in small amounts thing it sounds better than fasting for a whole day then eating one huge meal

    I've always like the idea of eating small amounts throughout the day instead of the usual three meals a day. I don't think it helps with fasting because you are just hungry and cranky.

    both have worked for me. at first i was doing 6 meals a day in an attempt to learn how to eat smaller portions and trying to prevent binge eating. then IF was great for a while when i was tired of having small meals, and i missed having my large dinners. heck, i even fasted for about 23 hours once or twice just to see if i could do it.

    but now i'm back to eating about 5-6 times a day. in the last 4 months, the weight has just melted off.
