Has anyone else been doing zumba like workouts? Well I just started and I wanted to know if anyone has had any success and what kind of dance work out do you do?

I use to do Zumba and oh my lord so much fun and so many calories burnt. I don't think it really matters how little or how much you weigh for Zumba its a burn for anyone. I have it for my wii I should get on it. Give it a try its soooo much fun

I LOVE ZUMBA!!!!! My biggest weight loss leap was because of Zumba. I had been weight training for months and months and not loosing anything (I wasn't paying attention to my diet so I know that didn't help at all either)
I started going to Zumba and BAM! 10 pounds randomly came off with out any diet changes.

I wore my HRM just on Friday to Zumba and it said I burned 571 calories in 56 minutes.

I do the following partner/social dances on a fairly regular basis:
    standard salsa (LA style)
Cuban salsa (casino and rueda de casino)
    merengue
    bachata
    cha cha cha
    Mexican cumbia

    I also do dance fitness:
    Zumba
    hip hop/funk/club dance

It's funny how little these two worlds overlap.

I have dabbled in or more occasionally do many other dances. Examples: samba, flamenco.

I don't really tend to lose weight just by dancing--I also need to be lifting weights and swimming if I want to lose. Probably 80% of the dancing that I do is just for fun. The extra activity helps, but it isn't the end-all and be-all for me with respect to weight loss.

I wish I could but I don't have the confidence (nothing to do with my body, I have bad social anxiety around new people. I also don't have an appropriate sports bra LOL). I used to play DDR a lot as I had it for Wii, but I've not been home for a while since I'm currently at uni, and when I am home all I want to do is relax.

You don't need a sports bra for social dancing. I don't use them for cardio dance either as they don't provide enough support.

What about taking a class where everything is structured?

Love Zumba- I do it at home... I find it more fun because I let loose! :)
