Loss 20lbs in 2 months, Doable? Safe?

I'm Currently just over 150lbs at 5'2". I want to lose 20 lbs by June 17th, my college graduation. Is this a doable or even healthy goal?

You're right I did and thats my own fault. However I do not plan to crash diet (because thats not safe), hence my seeking support on the forum. I want to get insight on healthy achievable methods and goals.

1% loss per week is reasonable. At your weight that's 1.5 pounds. But you'll want to slow it down to about 0.5 pounds for your last 10.0

Actually, that's more than two months, unless you didn't plan to start until April 17. If you start now, that's ten weeks. So you would have either eat 7,000 calories less, exercise 7,000 more, or a combination of the two every week. If you heretofore were eating exactly as much as you needed to maintain your weight, say 2,000 calories a day, cut back to 1,500, which is safe. Then you would need to exercise 500 calories a day. It's doable, but safe? I doubt it. As another poster said, you've known when you were going to graduate for a while.0 -

I lost about 12/13kgs (26-28lbs) in 10 weeks BUT I also lost about half of my hair in the process so I would not recommend losing weight that quickly. I did notice quite a change in my body just from losing the first 5kg (10-11lbs) so maybe that is a better goal for you in the short term.0

I lost 30 pounds in 2 months but I was starting at 273 and I'm 5'11"--so, totally different. I'm sure that by starting to track your calories and incorporating exercise in, you'll start to lose the weight. To get to a healthy BMI (which is kinda... ehhhh, I don't like it, but whatever) you should be between 101-136 lbs, according to the CDC. So, even at 15 lbs down you'd be "healthy weight".
Have the mindset that if you get to -20 lbs by graduation, great! If you get to -10 lbs by graduation, great! Don't push yourself too hard too fast. One of my roommates is a senior, so I get how tough the final semester is. Good on you for looking up and seeing how close graduation is--it can get very overwhelming at the finish line0 -

What you do know, absolutely without a doubt, is that if you start eating at a calorie defecit now, start moving more now, start lifting heavy now in 10 weeks you will have a much better body image than you do now
The weight on the scale at a point in time is almost irrelevant
The confidence that you are doing something about it is enough ...and at your height a few pounds can make a visible difference0 -

I agree and really my goal is just to get going, if I lost 20lbs by then great but just some improvement would make me happier. Like I mentioned early I don't plan on destroying my body over it, I was just wondering if someone did something similar in a healthy way.
