Hi all!
I am looking to meet new people to help support and be supported on this wonderful weight loss journey of mine. For the last (4) years (since the birth of my wonderful daughter) my weight has been up and down and up and down. Some history about me, I am 5'8 and my Goal Weight is 135 lbs. A weight that I have never been but have always hoped to be.
I was 216 at my biggest, following the birth of my daughter, to which I got down to 186, then got all the way down to 155. After being around 155-165 lbs for a year, I found myself back up to 180 to which I immediately began to change my eating habits and found myself at my smallest of 151 lbs! About 3 months after reaching that weight my scale broke and I didn't weigh myself for months. Then came the downward spiral. I got a position in a job where I always had delectable goodies at my beckoned call. I knew I was putting on weight (my clothes would not fit) and then one day it hit me just how bad it had become; I had an ill-fitting shirt on and my arms swelled up inside the shirt and I had to cut the shirt to get it off. A few weeks later I was at a friend's house who had a scale and I decided to weigh myself; I was a surprising 195 LBS!! I had no idea I had sent myself that far.
How do you gain all of that weight and not truly notice how bad it has become?? I felt like I had let myself go, and the worst part of all was I hadn't even realized it.
At that moment I had an epiphany that I needed to make a change, not just for the time being, but permanently. I'm looking to lose weight but only because I know that it will make me healthier and hopefully happier too!
I look forward to meeting new friends and hope we can motivate each other!
