Hi All
My name is Art and I need some motivation to loose 25 lbs in 3 months. I set my goal at 1860 cal a day and it is tough on me. It is my first week tracking my calories ever. So far I go over about 150-250 cal a day but I have no idea what to eat and I am constantly hungry :)
I sit in the office all day and looks like I sit all the time even at home. I walk around a block from time to time but it bring about 150 extra calories which help a bit. No exercising beside riding a bicycle for abt 1 hr on weekends but this is when it is warm but chicago dont give us a brake this year. I will appreciate all the help and tips to reach my goal

Fuji apples, chicken breast, carrots for lunch. I did this every day for 90 days and lost 10lbs. It may not be 25 lbs but it's a start. The apples make me full and it's healthy. The carrots are sweet. The chicken is delicious. Sometime I add peanut butter on my apples. Yum!

I bought a stand/trainer for my bike to make it into a stationary bike to use in the winter while I watch TV. This helped me to lose weight when the weather was rough. Add protein and fats to your meals to help you feel fuller for longer.

So which food is rich in protein? Fat is rather obvious

    First off, welcome aboard.

Secondly, go read this newbie help post, especially sexypants and the one about setting realistic goals. The rest would be useful too, but those are the ones you should start with.

Hint: if all you have to lose is 25 lb, you're not going to do it in 12 weeks.
Being that close to a healthy weight, if you lose 0.5 lb / week it will be a victory.

Third, you can look up the nutritional content of foods here:
    http://nutritiondata.self.com/
It also has other useful tools.

    You could also use google:

4 - If you are "constantly hungry", look at how much fiber, protein, & fat you're getting. All help you feel full longer. Have more low-calorie dense foods, like an apple, most vegetables, water, even chicken, turkey, fish, and eggs.

5 - This calculator from the Baylor College of Medicine will tell you how many servings of the food groups you need to eat to maintain a weight. Put in your healthy goal weight, your activity level, and it will tell you your calorie goal as well.

This is good source of info for starters. Second day meeting my goal. Today cereals helped a lot to keep things under control. So far lost 3.6 lbs in a week which I consider big success so far.

I just lost 19.8 lbs and my wife 8 lbs. In 28 days. We cut out anything that makes our body acidic. And ate arbonne shakes for lunch and dinner. We didn't have to count calories. Eating grass fed and free range beef and chicken along with other organic foods really fills you up!
