Movie Tavern not providing nutritional information....

Since we have a Movie Tavern nearby, that's the only theater my wife will agree to go to. They serve you dinner in the theater, and have a menu of various meals to choose from.
We've not gone to see a movie since I started watching my calories. Last weekend we did go, and the menu still doesn't list any nutritional information. So I asked our waitress if she can get it for me if I asked for a specific meal. She left, came back, and said that they do not have that information.
I thought they were required to provide that, but maybe they get around it because they only have 19 locations.
Have any of you ever been to a movie tavern? Do you have any luck getting the nutritional information for the food you order there?

Oh I love Movie Tavern! I checked their Facebook page and it looks like they don't provide nutritional information; however, if you email their customer service (customerservice@movietavern.com), they might be able to provide you with some information.
Be warned though... judging by some of the comments on their page, it looks like it takes a long while for Customer Service to respond to inquiries.
Otherwise, it looks like there are some items logged into MFP. Not sure how reliable those are, but maybe it will help you. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/nutrition-facts-calories/movie-tavern

Restaurants have until December, 2015 to comply with federal nutritional information disclosure rules. In addition, it only applies to chains having 20 or more locations that serve essentially the same dishes at each location.
I would stick with something that's pretty easy to guess, like a salad.
Also... is your wife totally opposed to going out to eat at another restaurant and then seeing a movie? Because (at least the way you've described it here), she's kind of being a brat.0 -
I'd much rather have dinner then see a movie (or the other way around), that way I can actually pay attention to my food AND the movie.
I realize my comment isn't helpful at all though.1 -
Looks like Movie Tavern has "only" 19 locations, so they won't be required to provide nutritional information under the new FDA rules, unless they continue to expand (which I'm guessing they will, eventually...)
I'm always torn when dining out: On the one hand, I really appreciate it when restaurants provide nutritional information, but for the most part only some of the large chain restaurants do that. On the other hand, I prefer eating at local establishments, but it's rare that they provide any nutritional information. I eat most of my meals at home, though, so I just estimate when I'm out. It's working pretty well so far. But it would be nice if all restaurants just provided nutritional information as a matter of course. I understand why they wouldn't want to--it might scare customers away from their more popular items (probably the ones with the highest calorie counts).
Probably just wishful thinking on my part... But, wouldn't it be nice if when the new rules take effect, that the smaller/non-chain restaurants started to provide nutritional info too? (Because customers just expect it...)0 -

Thanks for the suggestion. I did send them an email, so I'll see how long it takes for them to get back to me.
Somehow I don't think Movie Tavern will ever play ball with providing nutritional info until they open up another location and are therefore required to. And that's assuming that they provide similar menu items across the locations, and I doubt that they do..
In the meantime, I need to up my "estimating calories" game. Because right now I'm terrible at it. The chicken salad wraps are probably the safest bet. I don't like the salad options except for the caesar, and who knows how bad the dressing is.0 -
It looks like the chicken salad wrap may be a little higher than you're estimating. Chicken salad is often around 500 calories/cup (more or less) because it's all mayo - this one even has cashews - and some of the wraps at restaurants are so big that they're over 200 calories each.
If I didn't like the salad options, I'd probably order the fish or chicken tacos (crema used sparingly). It really depends on your calorie goals.
If you're not sure how to estimate, just search for each individual component via MFP and pay attention to the amounts that are indicated. It should give you a good idea of how many calories are in your plate.0 -

I looked up the calories for random chicken wraps once... 800+ calories. Yikes. Typically 150 calories of chicken (assuming grilled), 200 of dressing, 300 of tortilla, plus cheese and whatever else they're adding to it...0 -
I love movie tavern! Some of my family only likes to go there as well because of the bigger seats it is more comfortable. That being said, I just took a look through their menu, and there is pretty much nothing on there that would be safe (meaning lower) calorie wise except maybe if you split the hummus or had a slice of pizza. I would say your best bet is to eat before you go. You don't have to order food at movie tavern. I have gone before and just had a drink or even just gotten nothing. Then you get to enjoy the comfort of it without breaking the (calorie) bank!0

I used to order island skewers from there but it seems they've taken it off their menu, though, I'm not a huge MT fan because their selection of movies and number of showings suck.
You can try looking up similar items to what you want to order in the database and entering what seems close.0 -
I found the Movie Tavern Nutrition Information for 2016 on their website today. It is a .pdf file.
